1. Introduction

This documentation covers all features of Build Any Studio, including the five workspace modes, AI-powered writing assistance, document export, cover design, and knowledge store integration.

2. Workspaces

Build Any Studio is organised into five distinct workspace modes, each designed for a specific creative task. Navigate between workspaces using the sidebar navigation.

2.1 Words Workspace

The Words workspace is the primary document editor in Build Any Studio. It provides a distraction-free writing environment with powerful formatting tools and AI assistance.

• Rich Text Editing: Full formatting support including fonts, colours, alignment, lists, and more
• Auto-Save: Documents are automatically saved as you type
• Document Library: Browse, search, and manage all your documents in one place
• Version History: Access previous versions and restore them when needed
• AI Writing Assistant: Get intelligent suggestions, rewriting, and content generation
• Smart Pagination: Optional paginated view for print-ready documents

2.2 Publisher Workspace

The Publisher workspace provides a visual drag-and-drop page builder for creating custom page layouts. It's ideal for creating newsletters, brochures, and multi-page publications.

• Drag-and-drop block-based editing
• Pre-built block types: text, headings, images, and more
• Settings panel for fine-tuning block properties
• Export to Book Mode for paginated viewing

2.3 Pages Workspace

The Pages workspace provides a paginated view of your documents, simulating a book-like reading experience. Convert Words documents into paginated layouts with configurable page sizes.

• Convert Words documents to paginated book format
• Configurable page sizes (A4, A5, Letter, etc.)
• Select which document sheets to include

2.4 Cover Workspace

The Cover workspace lets you design professional book covers with an interactive 3D preview.

• Set book specifications (width, height, spine width, page count)
• Choose from multiple mockup styles
• Upload front cover, back cover, and spine images
• Interactive 3D book viewer for previewing your design

2.5 Knowledge Store

The Knowledge Store is a powerful document management and AI context retrieval system powered by Pinecone vector search.

• Upload and index documents for AI-powered search
• Manage taxonomy with tags and categories
• AI Chat automatically retrieves relevant context from your knowledge base
• Upload directly from the Words editor via the menu

3. Document Editor

The Words editor is built on Tiptap and provides a comprehensive set of text formatting, media insertion, and document management tools through an intuitive menu bar.

3.1 Text Formatting

The editor supports a wide range of text formatting options through the floating toolbar and keyboard shortcuts:

Insert rich media and structured content into your documents:

• Images: Upload or paste images directly into the editor. Supports resizing and wrapping.
• Tables: Insert and edit tables with headers, rows, and columns. Merge and split cells.
• Code Blocks: Syntax-highlighted code blocks with language selection powered by Lowlight.
• Links: Add hyperlinks to text with custom URL and open-in-new-tab options.

3.3 Document Management

• Auto-Save: Documents are automatically saved as you type. The save status is shown in the editor toolbar.
• Document Library: Access all your documents from the library panel. Search, filter, and organise your work.
• Version History: View and restore previous versions of your documents.
• Knowledge Store Upload: Send your document content directly to the Knowledge Store for AI context retrieval.

4. AI-Powered Features

Build Any Studio includes powerful AI features that enhance your writing and document interaction. All AI features use credits, which can be purchased separately.

4.1 Writing Assistant

The Writing Assistant is an AI-powered panel that helps you improve your writing. Access it from the AI Assistant menu or by selecting text and right-clicking.

• Rewrite, expand, or summarise selected text
• Generate new content based on prompts
• Inline writing suggestions appear as you type
• Context-aware improvements based on your document

4.2 AI Chat

Chat with AI about your documents and knowledge base. The AI Chat integrates with the Knowledge Store to retrieve relevant context when answering questions.

• Ask questions about your document content
• Retrieve context from Knowledge Store documents
• Get clarification and explanations
• Generate content suggestions and ideas

4.3 Agent Tags

Agent Tags are inline AI markers that you can add directly into your document content. They allow you to tag specific sections for AI processing, such as generating summaries, expanding text, or adding context from the Knowledge Store.

4.4 AI Credits System

AI features require credits, which can be purchased separately from your subscription. This pay-as-you-go model allows you to use AI features based on your needs.

5. Cover Designer

The Cover Designer workspace provides professional book cover design tools with a real-time 3D preview.

6. Custom Page Builder

The Publisher workspace's page builder uses drag-and-drop to create custom layouts from predefined block types.

• Blocks Panel: Browse and drag predefined blocks onto the canvas
• Canvas: The main editing area where blocks are arranged
• Settings Panel: Fine-tune properties of the selected block
• Book Mode: Convert your page layout into a paginated document with configurable page sizes
